Privacy & Data Policy

The Owners’ and Residents’ Association of Lac Bernard is committed to respecting the privacy of visitors to its website. The following summarises the privacy policy and practices as they pertain to the Association website:

  • The site does not automatically gather any specific personal information from users of the site, such as name, phone number or email address. This type of information is obtained only if supplied by the user via email. Our Web server does log page requests and post/get data categorized by browser version and IP address. We do not share this data with any 3rd party organizations for any reason.
  • Neither this site nor the Association will record your credit card number when paying for Memberships or Donations. Transactions and credit card numbers are managed entirely between your Credit Card issuer and Stripe, and so not pass through this site or are in any way stored on this site. As a further precaution, the option for Stripe to save your credit card information has also been disabled.
  • All personal information created, held or collected by the Association is protected under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
  • The Association employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted the Association’s website, the date and time of the visit, and the pages visited. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting the site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected.
  • The Association does not normally use cookies to track how visitors use this site or to determine sites previously visited. A system notification is put out to allow users to refuse the use of cookies.
  • Information on individual visitors is used by officers of the Association who need to know the information in order to respond to requests or to ensure the security of the system. The information is not used to create individual profiles, nor is it disclosed to anyone else.
  • Questions or comments regarding the Privacy Policy should be directed to the President of the Association.

  • When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.Media
  • If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
  • If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
  • Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
  • If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
  • If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
  • For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators and members of the association executive can also see that information.
  • If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
