Membership

Association Membership is $50 per year and you can renew for up to 3 years.

$50- 1 year

$100 – 2 years

$150 – 3 years

Membership is on a calendar basis – From January to December

Anyone can be a Member of the Association, but our bylaws restrict voting to only one Member per Property.

The simplest and fastest payment method is through INTERAC. We can also receive a cheque if you prefer. We no longer use PayPal and are not using credit cards at this time.

Enrolling and Renewing is easy. Please click on the Enroll or Renewal button below and make sure you fill in the form so we can communicate with you. Also, separately through your bank, please be sure send send your interac payment to “interac@lacbernard.ca” The Association does not collect bank information.

By enrolling or renewing, you are agreeing to support our Corporate Objectives outlined below. These are core to our letters patent and bylaws. If you have questions regarding any of these, please reach out to membership@lacbernard.ca.

When you join the Owners’ and Residents’ Association of Lake Bernard you become a member of one of the strongest and most active lake associations in the region. Our aim is to to ensure every cottage on the lake becomes a member and actively participates in our three key objectives:

  • Community Building
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Safety and Security of our Community

The Association members work together to ensure the long term sustainability of our lake, as well as organizing a fantastic social calendar, anchored by the fun-family annual regatta held in Regatta Bay!

Corporate Objectives

  • Manage the Corporation in a transparent and respectful manner in both official languages wherever possible
  • Promote the preservation and enhancement of the environmental and ecological well
    being of the lake;
  • Work with all levels of government to preserve and enhance the state of the lake and its
    biodiversity, ensure the maintenance of access roads and support the delivery of
    common services to residents and owners;
  • Support the recreational interests for the members of the Corporation;
  • Encourage the development of a respectful, involved and convivial community; and.
  • Ensure the Corporation is managed with fiscal responsibility, good governance and
    probity.

Your membership dues go directly to our advocacy and stewardship of the lake which includes:

  • advocating on your behalf with the municipalities of La Pêche and Low and the provincial government on issues that are important to you and your property
  • organizing the Annual Regatta held every year in early August in Regatta Bay
  • placing navigation buoys around the lake where there are rocks and milfoil
  • annually test water quality for bacteria and phosphates, and monitors shoreline overdevelopment
  • helping cottagers understand relevant bylaws and how to develop and enjoy their property without over-developing their lot
  • working with ABV des 7 and other lakes on the ongoing milfoil battle as well as watching for other invasive species that threaten our ability to enjoy our safe and healthy lake.
  • operating www.lacbernard.ca – the bilingual Association website that provides a source for information regarding eh lake including Association activities, water quality reports, news and a rich trove of archives and historical records and oral stories from our lake.
  • the regular maintenance and distribution of maps of the lake
  • operating a great store for Lac Bernard branded items – hats, mugs, shirts for babies, kids and grown-ups – and more
